Valletta, the capital of Malta, is a fortified city, surrounded by ramparts.

Malta Airport is located in the town of Luqa in the center of the island (8km from Valletta).

 

Bus lines to Valletta:

Bus lines 13, 13A, 14, 16, 45 and 48, the blue line for the North, the red line for the South

 

Take the sea shuttles (inexpensive) if your hotel is in the Three Cities.

Keep your ticket because, included in the ticket price, is the elevator BARRAKKA LIFT which connects the Upper Barrakka Gardens to the Grand Harbour.

Free: attend the cannon firing (salute shot) every day at 4:00 PM in the gardens, the Barrakka Gardens. These were the private gardens of the Knights of the Order of Malta
