Travel Tips: ICELAND - Reykjavík, small European capital

Once there, a car is essential for easier travel (many rental options at the airport). The airport is tiny.
Tips:
- Bring a scraper and cloths for the car in case of snow or frost
- Pay for your purchases in cash, otherwise you will be surcharged 2 to 3.8% when paying by credit card
The official currency is the Icelandic króna, its symbol is ISK

Reykjavik has several natural hot springs, the most famous of which is the Blue Lagoon spa, located about 40 km from the city.

In Iceland, the parks at the different sites are huge, and if you forget the 1000 ISK/€7 parking fee, there are cameras everywhere, and you'll automatically get a €35 fine + €7 when you return home, with an email and an automatic debit from your bank account.
